LIBERTY HILL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL (K-4)
LIBERTY HILL, TEXAS

WELCOME TO THE
2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR!!

Picture
Thank you for visiting “On the Canvas!”

I’m so proud of the art students are producing!   As you can see, our projects are becoming more advanced as students hone in on skills learned earlier this year.  Usually, by spring, I begin to see students taking more risks and I celebrate and nurture this important milestone!  Instilling an increased awareness of how special their spark of confidence is, is very important.   I focus on building that strength by giving students as much one-on-one attention as I can.   I praise their problem-solving and decision-making efforts and stay completely positive even when errors are made!  The goal being to take students from a “fixed mindset to a growth mindset.”

Please watch the video below which expands on this concept further.   While skills and techniques are still important, risk taking is essential!  The benefits are far too many to count!

                               Liberty Hill Art Newsletter

       Greetings!
With my thirteenth year as the art teacher at Liberty Hill Elementary, I am very excited about this new school year.  Our art classes will be making lots of fun projects this year. Many of our creative works will require items you may already have at home or know someone who can help us. Would you please take a little time and see if you could donate some of the following items. If so, please send them in with your child to the art room. Then, keep this list as a reminder to help our school throughout the year. Most important, please come and join in on an art lesson with your child any time.

Sincerely, Mrs. Linda Golemi Art Specialist
